Jeeperz 4wd made the trip to Iowa and stole Jens Pulver's Jeep YJ Wrangler in order to do a little overhaulin'. He knows we have the Jeep but we've been given free rein to set it up as we see fit. This will be a fun project for all so please check back often for updates.

Well it's about time we start updating this thread!

Obviously the first step of this project was to get Jens' Jeep from Iowa to PA. Well one cold winter night Rob and Jill from Jeeperz 4wd packed up and headed to Iowa with the trailer in tow. Traveling to the midwest in the dead of winter can be a cold experience and this trip was no different. The temperature was below 10 degrees nearly the entire 14 hours out.

When we arrived at Jens' house we learned that he had just brought his brand new baby boy Karson home from the hospital. So after meeting Karson and talking Jeep we loaded up the ol boy for the long ride back to PA.

We almost had to fight him for the keys but eventually Jens gave them up!!

Here's Jill and Jens with the 'old Jeep'.

Once we got the Jeep back to our shop the first order of business was to clean it out in preperation for disassembly.

Jens, when was the last time you cleaned the inside of this thing?????

We found a lot of interesting things amongst the leaves and loose change!!

All in all we were surprised at the lack of rust on the tub of the Jeep, but being an Iowa Jeep we knew it had been exposed to road salt and would surely have some rust issues....

This is the driver's side rocker panel from the inside.

and from the outside, OUCH!

Before tackling the rust repair we finished the tear down process. This is what we refer to as a 'naked' Jeep;

Don't worry Jens, we'll figure out how to put it back together:-)!

From the looks of the hood and cowl Jens and his Jeep were once caught in a hail storm. We had to do a little body work to the cowl area;

The passenger side had some rust in the same area but not as severe. This is the passenger side rocker with the bad stuff cut out.

Hey, we just saw Jens and little Karson on Versus so here is a teaser pic for them. We won't say what part this is, but we're sure Jens will love it...
